Ingredients – What’s In Hairfluence?
First of all, this product is both gluten-free and also made from non-GMO ingredients, which are both major positives in my book.
Zhou Nutrition lays out all the ingredients in their product, and describes what each ingredient is intended for.
After having researched and tried so many of these products, this level of transparency and clarity about ingredients is RARE and speaks positively for the product.
Using this information, I want to dig a little deeper into the claims, so we can decide whether this is worth trying.
Prevents hair loss, breakage & promotes overall healthy hair; for both existing hair and new growth.
Bamboo extract naturally contains a high concentration of Silica, an essential nutrient that nourishes vital tissues in hair, skin & nails; encourages a healthier, more youthful appearance.
Natural antioxidant providing 18 essential amino acids found to generate faster, healthier cell growth in hair, skin & nails.
Naturally-Occurring compound found in many foods; aids the body’s production of collagen, promoting supple skin & hair.
MSM helps maintain structural proteins and works closely with keratin.
Naturally-Occurring protein in the body; aids in protecting and repairing damaged hair.
Antioxidant that enhances immune function at a cellular level to promote healthy hair & skin.
Folate (as folic acid)
Promotes the development of healthy DNA, which controls healthy tissue growth and cell activity.
Interesting side note: the presence of folate in prenatal vitamins is one reason why women so commonly report improved hair appearance and growth while pregnant!
Essential to red blood cell formation, which carries oxygen to scalp and hair follicles.
Antioxidant promoting formation and maintenance of healthy cells.
Promotes the creation of new hair follicles and may “wake up” dormant follicles, providing fuller & more voluminous hair.
Promotes lush, strong hair.
And another interesting side note – thiamine also has a calming effect on the nervous system, which helps indirectly combat a common cause of hair loss, which is stress!
Zhou Nutrition approaches their solution to hair loss from a more scientific, vitamin-and-mineral deficiency perspective instead of incorporating herbal alternatives.
Who Should Take Hairfluence?
Hairfluence is advertised as a hair loss prevention supplement for both men and women. In researching this product, I found reviews from both men and women, discussing their experiences with the supplement.
I’ve also seen reviews from older and younger people, and people of a wide range of ethnicities.
Hairfluence is not recommended for pregnant women.
Out of the hundreds of positive reviews that I’ve read of Hairfluence for hair growth, one thing that stood out was so many women saying that they heard about Hairfluence from their hairdressers, of all places.
And that when the supplements started working, the hairdressers noticed and commented on the appearance!
I tend to trust something recommended by hairdressers, as they are on the front lines, so to speak!
Other Hairfluence users noted a distinct thickening and strengthening effect from the vitamins, as opposed to strictly new growth.
This is valuable because a lot of women, including readers of this blog, who don’t have hair loss or balding specifically still have concerns about breakage from fine and/or brittle hair. These users noticed a massive difference in hair strength after taking Harfluence.
Most women said they saw results within 2-4 weeks. I will say this: people who like it really like it. There are reviews from people who’ve been using it for many months, as well as from people who’ve tried lots of other products on the market for hair loss.
As for the negative results from my research, some users say that they didn’t notice a difference, or didn’t notice much of a difference after dedicated use.
The biggest complaint I saw was the possibility of breakouts: several people reported issues with acne and/or rashes after starting this supplement. Others said it did work for their fingernails, but not their hair. A few people noted increased headaches.
Important reminder: with any product (and ESPECIALLY hair loss products) some people will have negative or allergic reactions to some of the ingredients.
Overall: Hairfluence is an Affordable Option
For around $21 for a one-month supply, Hairfluence rings in in as one of the more affordable hair loss supplements on the market.
For people on a limited budget (which is a lot of us!), I recommend trying Hairfluence as an all-in-one strategy: it’s simply much cheaper to take one single vitamin than buying individual or speciality vitamins individually.
With 4.5 stars out of over 1,600 reviews on Amazon.com at the time of this blog post, it’s clear that Hairfluence is helping plenty of people suffering from hair loss. On this basis alone, Hairfluence is worth a try.
After my research, my biggest concern with this supplement is the possibility of an acne breakout.
If you are already acne-prone, Hairfluence might be worth the risk since the worst case scenario would be more of the same (sorry for the cynicism there).
For those with sensitive skin, or who have their acne under control, I would be cautious and start with a half dose (one pill) and work my way up to two daily, and discontinue use if acne gets worse during that time.
Because I’m currently having issues with acne, I won’t be taking this until I get it under control, but I am definitely curious after reading so many glowing reviews. It will be on my radar for another fun experiment, when my skin clears up! I will be sure to update this blog with my results!
One recommendation I would make for anyone taking this vitamin: also include a nightly scalp massage with rosemary essential oil.
This will help you “cover your bases”, because Hairfluence is a straight-up vitamin-and-mineral supplement and doesn’t include many of the proven herbal and natural cures for hair loss in its ingredients list.
Hair loss must be treated comprehensively, on the inside with nutrition and supplements AND on the outside with scalp, hair, and skin nourishment.
