About Dr. Wilson
Dr. Debra Rose Wilson is a health psychologist and nurse. She graduated with a Master of Science in Holistic Nursing from the University of Tennessee in 2002, and she completed her PhD in Health Psychology from Walden University in 2006.
She has gained experience across many specialties over the years. These include public health, obstetrics, complementary and alternative therapies, epidemiology, breastfeeding trends, wellness, disease prevention, and higher education. She currently has a private practice as a holistic nurse, providing grief counseling, clinical hypnosis, and lactation consulting. Her work in the field earned her the title of American Holistic Nurse of the Year for 2017 – 2018.
In recent years, Dr. Wilson has worked extensively in higher education and publishing. She currently works as coordinator for Austin Peay State University’s School of Nursing. She has over 100 research publications across her various areas of expertise, and she also previously worked as managing editor of the International Journal of Childbirth Education.
